This long-standing pro bono program has served numerous low-income seniors and disabled persons by providing them with important life-planning documents. After this comprehensive training, you will be prepared to volunteer in sessions that you choose. Matters covered include the drafting of simple Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney, and Advance Medical Directives (“Living Wills”). At each session, attorneys participate by going together to a site that is convenient for the clients including nursing homes, senior centers and low-income senior housing. By the end of the second visit, the documents are finalized and the lawyer’s work is done.
