This MCLE program will prepare the volunteer attorney to represent low-income clients throughout an uncontested divorce matter, as well as learn these family law procedures for other clients. The comprehensive nuts and bolts training includes presentations by experienced practitioners and Judge Ortiz's Law Clerk, sample pleadings and a mock ore tenus hearing with Judge Ortiz of the Fairfax Circuit Court. Although not legally complex, these divorces have a great impact on the lives of the clients.  This 2.5 MCLE credit program is free to active members of the Virginia State Bar in exchange for undertaking representation in 5 uncontested cases over the course of one year through the Northern Virginia Pro Bono Law Center.
