Come join the battle for the HEROES vs. VILLAINS 10th Annual Run for Justice 5k benefitting the Fairfax Law Foundation.  Join us on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.; 8:30 a.m. Kids' Fun Run, ready to run in your favorite superhero or villain costume.  Prizes awarded to top finishers and best costumes – individuals, duos and groups.   

 

The Run for Justice 5k will again feature ChronoTrack System timing.  The event also includes a Kids Fun Run and family friendly post-race activities.  All participants in the 5k race will receive a premium T-Shirt.  All children participating in the Kids Fun Run will receive a medal.   

 

Stick around after the race to enjoy our famous post-race buffet spread! 

This event has raised over $135,000 since its inception to benefit the Fairfax Law Foundation's misson to provide law-related education to our youth and community, provide direct legal assistance to the indigent and those with special needs; and promote access to and improvements in the justice system.  This year we look forward to continuing the tradition.

Registration

  Now through March 22  March 23 - March 31  April 1 - Race Day 
 5K Registration  $30.00  $35.00  $40.00
 Kids' Fun Run  $15.00  $15.00  $20.00

 

Register online or in person during packet pick-up on Saturday, April 6th at the Potomac River Running store located in the Fairfax Corner Shopping Center, from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM.  Race day registration and packet pick-up will open at 7:30 a.m. and will take place in the center of Fairfax Corner Shopping Center. 

 

Awards & Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the top three (3) men and top three (3) women, top three (3) masters male and female and to the top two (2) men and women in the following age groups: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 & Over. The awards ceremony will take place following the race.

 

Prizes will also be awarded for best costume. Returning this year will be a costume contest featuring a judging panel. Costumes will be judged in the following categories:  

  • Top 3 best Superheroes costume
  • Top 3 best Villains costumes
  • Best Heroes vs Villains: To be eligible team must consist of two runners in coordinating costumes
  • Fantastic Four - To be eligible team must consist of four runners in same or coordinating costumes

Entertainment

Scorpio Entertainment will provide pre and post-race music.

 

Post-Race Refreshments

Carrying on the tradition of previous races, 2019 will feature pre-race coffee and doughnuts and a plentiful post-race buffet.

 

T-shirts

All  participants and volunteers will receive a T-Shirt.  

 

Kids' Fun Run

There will be a noncompetitive (untimed) fun run for kids beginning at 8:30 a.m. Medals awarded to all finishers.

 

Timing

This race will be timed by Commonwealth Race Management and will be electronically timed using the ChronoTrack B disposable tag system. Overall awards will be based on the "clock time", and age group awards will be based on "chip time".

 

Water Stations

In addition to water at the start/finish, water will be available on the course just past the half-way point.

 

Parking

Plenty of Free Parking will be available in adjacent lots. 

 

Volunteer Opportunities

Join in the fun as an event volunteer! This event relies on 50+ volunteers to be successful and we need YOUR help.Volunteer jobs include water station, race buffet registration area, or course marshals on race day. We will also need volunteers at packet pick up.
