Valentine's Day Project 2020 Donors

Each year in January and February, the Fairfax Bar Association Paralegal Section works in conjunction with the Fairfax Law Foundation to purchase new books (hard and paperback), as well astoiletries, journals, and personal items for 12 young women and 22-24 young men in the residential correctional programs of Fairfax County, which include Foundations (formerly the Girls’ Probation House), Stepping Stones: A Therapeutic Journey for Boys (formerly the Boys’ Probation House),and young men in the BETA Program.

This worthwhile project helps to give the gift of reading to our local youth in crisis, and the gift bags let the young people know that people in the community are thinking of them. One young man wrote “I never owned a book until that day and y’all inspired me to read more.” He also drew a picture of a heart and said, “Healed my Heart”.

The Paralegal Section met on February 13, 2020 at Cooper Ginsberg Gray PLLC to prepare the gift bags and ensure everyone received sundries as well as their requested books.

We sincerely thank the many donors who displayed their support to their Northern Virginia Community during the 2020 Valentine’s Day Project:
